This view looks along the strada Maggiore towards the centre of the city. In the right foreground is the palazzo Davia-Bargellini followed closely by the arcaded Palazzo Poggi and in the far distance is the Asinelli tower.
Signature, lower left: Drawn by James Hakewill; lower right: Engrav'd by John Scott. The plate forms part of Hakewill's A picturesque tour of Italy, from drawings made in 1816-1817. The volume was published by John Murray in 1820 and was illustrated with 64 commissioned engravings that were made from Hakewill's drawings. Forms part of: Library Collection. Prints.
