This drawing done from the vineyard above Virgil's tomb shows the long stretch of the beach of Chiaia ending at Pizzafalcone and the Castel dell'Ovo. As now, more than half of the Chiaia waterfront is taken up by the gardens of the Villa Comunale, formerly the Villa Reale.
The drawing was glued on a cardboard, originally numbered 5.43, and kept in a portfolio. Title from note on the original cardboard. Forms part of: Library Collection. Drawings.
