The Mercury was found in 1543 in a garden by Castel S. Angelo and put by Paul III into the Cortile del Belvedere.
The drawing was glued on a cardboard, originally numbered 5M.22, and kept in a portfolio. Title from note on the original cardboard. Forms part of: Library Collection. Drawings.
